Fuji Film came out with the iS-1 Digital Infrared Camera in 2007. IS-1
I was honored to be asked by Fuji to try it out and have fun with it for some images to showcase at WPPI. So I asked Lacie my assistant and her boyfriend to model for us.

Cecy is the youngest of 3 daughters in the Livas family. 2 years ago I photographed Vilma and Alfredo's wedding in Zacatecas, Mexico. Alfredo is Cecy's Oldest brother. 1 1/2 years ago I photographed Erika and Marcelo's wedding in Monterrey, Mexico. Ericka is Cecy's big sister.
All 3 weddings were in different parts of the heart of Mexico. Cecy and Diego's wedding was in their home town of Monterrey. One of the biggest cities in Mexico. They chose El Camino Real for their wedding reception.
There was so much color and so much to photograph, not to mention the 5 floral bouquets prepared for their wedding. 1 for getting ready, 1 for ceremony, 1 for bride and groom shots, 1 for reception and 1 for the toss.

Jisoo and Uwe were married at the Ojai Valley Inn. I love Ojai it totally reminds me of the Santa Ynez Valley where I grew up. It's so naturally beautiful, I really don't have to do much but compose my shots and get reaction and vuala.

Kellie and Michael were married in Santa Fe, NM. I have some of their images in my archives in the month of Dec. So happy I was there to document their moment in time.
I photographed Jordan about 4 years ago while she was modeling for an agency in Los Angeles. I was very excited when she called me 3 1/2 years later to shoot her beautiful wedding at the Biltmore in Santa Barbara, CA.

I photographed the Gonzalez and the Pfeiffer family a few weeks back, Jack Xander and Zenna stole the show. They are so cute and full of energy.
I wanted to thank the Thirst Relief for asking me to be a mentor at the WPPI this year. My auction was able to help bring in $2300.

Hi this is Lacie Hansen, Jose's Studio Manager. Last November I attended a Jose VillaWorkshop in Guadalajara,Mexico. At this workshop I met one of the speakers, Karina Puente. The Thirst Relief is hosting a benefit during the WPPI. Im excited to announce that I’ve been asked to be apart of this very cool mentorship program. This is a great way to have a 1 on 1 session with a photographer you are inspired by while giving back all at the same time.
{Here are the points you need to know}
-The auction will go live on February 9, 2008 at 10 EST. The auction is based on EST.
-The auction will not be visible until Sat. but you can pre-register.
-The bidding will only go on for 3 days, and will end on the 12th, so remember to place your bid.
-The winner will get a chance to have a 90 min. 1 on 1 session at WPPI with the photographer's bid they won. I will go over everything, IM AN OPEN BOOK, BRING IT ON!!

Here is yet another 1 on 1 workshop. These workshops are 3 days of 1 on 1 time with me. During the 3 day stay we photograph 1 kids session, 1 baby session, 1 fashion lifestyle shoot, and 1 wedding.
This time the 1 on 1 workshop was taken by Jen Curtis from Boston. Jen also was with us for our Mexico workshop in November, you can see more of Jen's images on her blog from the workshop in Mexico.
This shoot was really fun, we photographed the Lopez girls at their home. First we started with the indoor lighting then we shifted gears and headed outside just in time to catch the beautiful sunset.
We had a blast! Jen and I will be shooting a wedding together in New York this year. Can't wait!!
